Ford F-150 Named 'Truck of the Year' by Motor Trend Magazine

Drivers in Annapolis, give it up for the new Ford F-150! After enduring a week of hard-core testing performed by Motor Trend magazine,  the nation's best-selling vehicle has proven it has the guts to win the glory of the publication's 'Truck of the Year' Award.

Given Ford has sold well over 516,000 F-150 pickups in the U.S. in 2011, Koons Ford isn't necessarily what you would call surprised. But, we are still incredibly impressed.

Speaking on the rugged Ford F-150 pickup's performance in road tests that ranged from everyday to tackling steep grades, ridden with tight turns Motor Trend, Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Ed Loh raves that the F-150 performed every challenge presented with extreme adroitness. He goes on to say the pickup not only completed the magazine's instrumented tests with Dean's-list aptitude, but that it was able to sway judge's verdicts in real-world road appraisals.

So what exactly makes the Ford F-150 stand out from some of the other trucks it trounced? Koons Ford will field that one to Mr. Loh who sums it better than we ever could. "The Ford F-150's considerable strengths stood out from the crowd in sharp relief against the competition," he says. "By offering high-tech features like SYNC and EcoBoost, Ford has clearly taken a leadership position in the market and demonstrated a commitment to making the F-150 not just the best-selling truck in America, but perhaps the most versatile, From the fuel-sipping EcoBoost to a desert-racing Raptor, the F-150 covers all of the bases."1 And there you have it: a tough-as-nails spirit and extreme versatility.
