Ford is on a mission to bring drivers the most technologically advanced vehicles today. Advancements on board the updated Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus helped bring the company a nod on Auto Trader's survey for the most innovative auto maker.
Koons Ford in Annapolis, MD has pinpointed some of those advances that gave Ford this prestigious honor:
FordSync - The voice activated driver interface utilizes text-to-speech technology, enabling drivers to access and control an iPod, phone calls, and third-party apps by voice control.
Hybrid and Electric - Ford has cornered the market on both fronts. The current Fusion receives 40 mpg combined, but the upcoming 2013 concept will hit upwards of 45. Soon, electric Focus, Fiesta, and Fusion will achieve even more - upwards of 100 miles to the gallon equivalent (MPGe).
MyFordTouch - Introduced in January 2010, MyFordTouch uses touch screen to control various in-car features: navigation, satellite radio, climate control etc.
Finally, EcoBoost - "This is Ford's brand name for a line of turbocharged engines. The best example is Ford using an EcoBoost V6 in the F-150 and some SUVs instead of a V8. By using turbocharging, Ford can put a smaller engine in a truck or SUV, giving it excellent fuel economy but with the kind of horsepower buyers expect from full-size trucks and SUVs."1
